LLOYD WINT- ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE CREDIT

Lloyd Wint is Assistant Vice President, Corporate Credit of Capital & Credit Merchant Bank with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Corporate Credit Department, which provides banking services to large and medium enterprises in the Jamaican economy.

Mr. Wint has over 30 years experience in the financial sector specialising in, inter alia, Financial Negotiation, Investment Decision-making and Risk Management, Commercial, Investment and Development Banking, and Project Appraisal and Management.

He holds a Masters of Science Degree in Accounting and a BSc. in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies (UWI). Mr. Wint has held several senior management positions at the various organisations he served before joining the Bank in 2007.

He was a former General Manager of National People’s Co-operative Bank of Jamaica Limited and a Management and Financial Consultant and Entrepreneur, having operated his own business for three years. He served as a Senior Manager, Corporate Division at NCB Jamaica Limited for three and one half years. He was also a Manager at NCB (Investments) Limited for seven years and was the Chief Project Officer at the Caribbean Development Bank, during 1984 and 1990.

Mr. Wint also did stints at Life of Jamaica, now Sagicor, the former Workers Savings & Loans Bank, and Peat Marwick & Mitchell, in the field of Accounting.

He has authored several papers, including; ‘Viability and Autonomy of Development Finance Corporations – Approaches and Strategies’, presented at the Caribbean Agricultural Credit Association Seminar, held in Barbados in 1986 and ‘CDB and its DFC Operations since 1980 - A Review’, presented at the Senior Management Seminar for Development Finance Corporations at the CDB Conference Centre, Wildey, Barbados in 1987.

He is a sports enthusiast (cricket in particular) and has a keen interest in politics, economics and business matters. He is also a Life Member of the Guild of Graduates of the UWI and a past Vice President of Knox College Past Students’ Association.
